It’s party season! Christmas is coming and that means work dos, Christmas markets, nights out with old friends, Christmas Eve drinks, Christmas Day drinks, Boxing Day drinks, NYE parties… basically lots of social events, lots of alcohol and lots of seasonal party outfits.

This Christmas, glitter and sequins are in BIG TIME (thanks to Kendall Jenner in her glitzy rose gold mini with a low slung front and an even lower back). Many websites are selling similar versions of the dress, but there are loads of different styles available too, with just as much sparkle. Glittery boots are also a big trend this year. Sparkly feet on the dancefloor? Hell yes!!!

Mesh is also on point this season. A great way to show off your figure without exposing too much skin and freezing to death! There are lots of bodysuits and dresses made with mesh fabric that use appliqué designs to cover modesty and add edge. Try an illusion, appliqué bodysuit teamed with some leather-look trousers for a rock chick party look.

A Christmas fave is velvet. It keeps you warm, looks classy and makes you feel like Jessica Rabbit. What’s not to love? Velvet works beautifully in deep, rich tones. Think wine, navy, emerald green, indigo and black. Try a Bardot style midi dress, exposing only your neckline and mid calves. This keeps the fabric looking sophisticated.

Fur, fur, fur! A fur coat makes any outfit look cosy and Christmassy but also oozes style. Teamed with a black polo neck, black skinnies and black ankle boots, a fur coat makes a basic, work outfit look chic and sophisticated. Many websites are selling some gorgeous styles. REMEMBER: Only faux fur allowed!

No time to change between work and going out? Try a leather-look mini skirt for an easy work-to-party look. Leather-look items give some edge but are also perfectly paired with basic work staples to give them that ‘Parisian chic’ look, rather than ‘Back to the future.’

Metallics are in big this festive season so why not try a bit of silver in your skirt? Team with opaque black tights, ankle boots and a turtle neck jumper for an easy but edgy party outfit.

Lest we forget, my all-time favourite Christmas attire. PYJAMAS! Slumped on the sofa in a pair of brand-new Christmas PJs with matching, fluffy slipper socks and a glass of mulled wine in hand. Heaven! Lazy girls, unite!!

But, whatever you wear this festive season, pair your outfit with a huge smile! ‘Tis the season to be jolly! So eat lots, drink even more and be merry! After all, the happiest girls are the prettiest!
