Georgie Morrell is a visually impaired comedian, actor and writer. Her debut show, A Poke in the Eye, has had two successful Edinburgh runs, transfer to the Soho Theatre, 4* reviews and is currently touring. Alongside her second stand up show, The Morrell HighGround. Georgie’s third show, Eyecon, is in development and has been commissioned by The New Wolsey Theatre Ipswich Testing Ground and debuts at The Vaults Festival next month. Georgie is a regular blogger for the Huffington Post and a disabled activist regularly working for RNIB.
Georgie was recently nominated for a BBC Audio Best Debut Performance for her lead role in BBC Radio 4 Drama Jayne Lake by Matthew Graham. Her writing has been shortlisted for BBC Writersroom comedy and longlisted for the Funny Women Comedy awards. She is a workshop facilitator and a writing mentor for Extant Theatre Company and an ambassador for RNIB.
